DuPont postal packaging marketed by Swedes

DuPont will now be able to market and sell their branded Tyvek envelope across Western Europe following agreement with Swedish packaging firm.

Bong, a supplier of specialised packaging has operations in thirteen countries with annual sales of around £176.4m

The Tyvek brand will be marketed as part of their ProPac range currently growing rapidly with Russia.  They are obviously keen to pursue further opportunities throughout Northern Europe.

Bong will buy Tyvek material from DuPont in Luxembourg  and convert it into products at its sites across Europe; predominantly in Wuppertal, Germany.

The firm hopes to develop Tyvek material for a number of new applications, such as for use by e-commerce and mail order companies.  They also plan to  sub-contract part of the manufacturing and distribution of Tyvek to third-parties to increase sales.

Anders Davidsson, Bong's president and CEO, said "Tyvek fits exceptionally well into our ProPac strategy and we are excited about the opportunity to develop the Tyvek envelopes market in the years to come.".

Tyvek envelopes and postal packaging currently has a turnover of £8.9m. DuPont envisage that the deal with Bong will enable it to grow the Tyvek brand and increase its presence in the European market.
