First swine flu kit for UK
The UK's first swine prevention wipes have been produced by Kingfisher Healthcare with full retail- ready packaging being designed and manufactured by Charapak.
Following submission of Kingfisher's brief, Charapak designed and produced 20,000 shelf-ready displays within 10 days with floor-standing displays following within another seven days. Prototypes were created within a day of receiving the commission.
The displays hold 12 travel packs, each containing 25 wipes. The floor units hold the travel packs and family packs, which each hold 75 wipes.
Made from 210gsm litho sheet, the units are mounted onto E-flute for the counter displays, then onto EB-Flute for the floor displays. With a machine varnish, they are printed in four colours.
Charapak's Commercial Manager, John Halston, said: "We pride ourselves in being able to meet tight deadlines and fast turnarounds, but there is undoubtedly added satisfaction in being able to get such an important product to market so quickly."
The wipes have been dermatologically tested and can kill the AH1N1 swine flu virus. They can also kill 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and fungus.
An industrial pack is also available containing 250 Swine Flu Wipes.
