Klockner Pentaplast invests £3m in PET production
Klockner Pentaplast, the German film producer, has invested £3m in PET production capacity at its Welsh operation.
The investment being made by the group at the Crumlin site, would help support increasing demand for PET films, particularly in the UK market. The backing of the Welsh Assembly Government has also been received.
Chief Operating Officer, Dr Hans-Joachim Kogelnik, said the investment showed the firm's commitment to the market, adding, "Despite the difficult economic conditions, we are committed to servicing the market and our customers with a highly flexible supply capability and new product development."
The site has also been expanded to contain the increased production facilities.
Owned by the Blackstone Group, Klockner Pentaplast has sales of more than EUR 1.1bn. employing some 3,200 people at 19 sites worldwide.
The company produces films for pharmaceutical, food and electronics packaging and also printing and specialist applications.
