More space at PPMA
Due to a late rush for the PPMA show, organisers have been forced to add extra floorspace to the exhibition later this month.
More than 300 companies had already signed up for the show, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 29 September to 1 October, said Reed Exhibitions.
Reed discovered that almost seven out of 10 respondents expected to see an upturn in the economy during 2010. Three quarters expected an increase in orders in the second half of this year.
Reed's group exhibition director, Ian Crawford, said that the interest in the show "an indication of how many companies in the sector are taking a positive attitude to tackling this recession".
The PPMA Show features a Machinery Innovation Demonstrations programme showcasing new machinery and technology developments.
