PET specialist hit by fire
A fire at their Worcestershire plant earlier this week has hit PET packaging specialist Esterform.
The facility at Tenbury Wells called out Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) at around 2.25am on Sunday 25 July.
The fire on the first floor was attended to by ten pumps, and, was brought under control by 6.10am with crews finally left at 5.30pm.
According to HWFRS there had been significant damage to the office area on the first floor and extensive smoke damage on the second floor. Also to rafters in the roof area, and, water damage on the ground floor.
David James, Watch Manager, said: "It was fortunate that the fire was noticed so quickly as with the plastic processing at the premises, the incident had the potential to be far more serious than it was. Thankfully, no one was injured and despite the damage to the office area, the shop floor is already up and running."
The fire is believed to have been started accidentally in the office area on the first floor of the building.
It is believed that the fire had had a minor impact on the business and they were taking care of the situation.
