Coatings

SJA has the capability to produce silicone coated release filmic liners, on substrates such as polythene, polypropylene and polyester.

Available in both pad and spool formats.

FILMIC LINER RANGE

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

with good stiffness and strength, HDPE is ideal as a low cost release liner for industrial applications - e.g. bitumen membranes, bag release tapes and insulation panels.

Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

good tear resistance & flexibility, it is suitable for industrial and graphics applications where coloured film is required or where high clarity is not a priority.

Polypropylene (PP)

comes in a variety of forms (non-orientated, orientated, blown) and therefore a range of properties, PP provides a better heat resistance than polyethylene and is used in industrial and label applications.

Polyester (PET)

like bi-axially orientated polypropylene (BOPP), PET offers good clarity, tight gauge control, a gloss surface and good stiffness and strength with low stretch. However, PET offers superior heat resistance. PET is popular as a release liner for high value labels, graphics or medical products.

All products have excellent release from aggressive adhesives and release values can be modified to suit particular adhesives. They are unaffected by solvents of the ester, ketone and alcohol groups in addition to most general purpose solvents.

Why use siliconised films rather than papers?

  • Uniform thickness
  • High internal delamination resistance
  • Transparency
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • High tensile and tear resistance
  • Smooth, maximum hold out surface
  • Customised flexibility or stiffness
  • Low compressibility

Other coatings may be available upon request - please contact SJA with your requirements.

We also have the facility to boost treat, and, to treat customers own substrates.

One colour print is also available at SJA.
